MagicJack for PC Download [Windows and Mac] MagicJack is similar to Skype, Google Voice and other Internet protocol voice applications, giving individuals with a conventional telephone number and the ability to both telephone call as well as get calls online.
The magicJack USB device enables you to use your computer's Internet connection for making voice calls. While the device is designed to fit plug-and-play standards, uninstalling the software that accompanies the device is a little more difficult. To completely remove the software from your iMac, you must download an additional uninstaller application to complete the removal process. The normal uninstall process for Macs won't remove all of the software components of magicJack.
Step 1
Select the 'magicJack' icon on the desktop and drag it onto the 'Trash' icon on the desktop. This will cut the connection between your software and the magicJack adapter so you can safely remove it.
Step 2
Navigate to the 'magicJack Knowledge Base' website (see Resources). In the Search box below 'Type in your question below to get the quickest answer,' type 'Mac uninstall' (without quotes). Click the 'Search' button. Under 'Search Results,' click the 'How do I uninstall magicJack from my computer?' link. An Answer page is displayed.
Step 3
Click the 'Click Here' link under the 'MAC' category to download the uninstaller to your computer. When prompted, save the uninstaller utility to your desktop.
Step 4
Open a new 'Finder' window and double-click the 'Applications' folder. Open the 'Utilities' menu and double-click the 'Terminal' icon.
Step 5
Type 'cd Downloads' (without quotes) into the Terminal screen and press 'Enter.' Enter the command 'chmod+x CompleteUninstall.sh' into the window and press 'Enter' again. Type the './CompleteUninstall.sh' command into the window and press 'Enter' to completely uninstall the magicJack application from your computer.
Step 6
Click the 'Spotlight' icon in the left side of the menu bar. Type 'magicjack' (without quotes) into the Search box to locate any leftover magicJack files. Drag any files located into the Trash. Click the 'Finder' tab on the menu bar and click the 'Empty Trash' icon to make sure that all the magicJack files are removed from your computer.

Hello,
I am new to Mac and I am not a Unix system programmer.
I purchased a MagicJack Plus for my sister and I set it up using my new iMac for her. Now I would like to remove the setup software from my iMac as I do not like to leave extraneous software on my machine. Also, MagicJack seems to be even more clueless than me, which I find VERY disturbing.
I. I viewed and attempted to execut instructions outlined in 'How do I uninstall magicJack from my computer?' on MJ wesite as follows:
Download CompleteUninstall.sh.After the download is complete, open a terminal window by navigating to /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.
In the Terminal Window, navigate to your download directory (usually Downloads) by typing cd Downloads and pressing enter. Next, type chmod+x CompleteUninstall.sh and press enter. Now type ./CompleteUninstall.sh and press enter again.
For reference the CompleteUninstall.sh script contains the following:
#!/bin/sh
# instalator files
rm -rf ~/.magicJack
rm -rf ~/MJInstlogs
rm -rf ~/Desktop/Start magicJack.app
# softphone files
rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/magicJack
# WebKit cache
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/magicJack
# instalator files
rm -rf ~/.magicJack
rm -rf ~/MJInstlogs
rm -rf ~/Desktop/Start magicJack.app
# softphone files
rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/magicJack
# WebKit cache
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/magicJack

The change ownership command failed, I presume because the path to the Unix Commands directory is not set? If so, how do I set it and then reset everything back to current defaults?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
